Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defect detecting device capable of accurately detecting a local defect in an exhaust purifying filter.SOLUTION: A DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) as the exhaust purifying filter is divided into three areas mutually defined in parallel to a flow of exhaust gas, and flow rate sensors are arranged for respectively detecting an exhaust flow rate of passing through the three areas. Just after regenerating the DPF (S1), when under an operation condition of being steady and exceeding a threshold value in the exhaust flow rate (S2), a deviation in the exhaust flow rate among the three areas is arithmetically operated (S3 and S4), and a maximum value ΔMAX among an absolute value of the deviation is compared with a defect determining level SL (S5). When the maximum value ΔMAX is the defect determining level SL or more, the occurrence of a detect (melting damage) is determined, and a warning lamp is turned on (S6).
【課題】排気浄化フィルタにおける局所的な欠陥を精度よく検出できる欠陥検出装置を提供する。 【解決手段】排気浄化フィルタとしてのDPF(Diesel Particulate Filter)を、排気の流れに対して並列であってかつ相互に画成した3領域に分割し、この3領域を通過する排気流量をそれぞれに検出する流量センサを設ける。そして、DPFの再生直後であって(S1)、定常でかつ排気流量が閾値を超える運転条件のときに(S2)、前記3領域間での排気流量の偏差を演算し(S3,S4)、偏差の絶対値のうちの最大値ΔMAXと欠陥判定レベルSLとを比較する(S5)。最大値ΔMAXが欠陥判定レベルSL以上であれば、欠陥(溶損)の発生を判定し、警告灯を点灯する(S6)。 【選択図】図4
